Face it.

1/3

Face it. is about a group of five individuals facing, together, difficult situations in a limited space. Their goal is to find a stable and balanced state within the group in order to be able to face all situations. They seek to establish a common activity helping them to reach for this balance at all times - a ritual. The public simply witnesses it.

Stability doesn't last forever. Naturally a chain reaction effect can disrupt this balance at any time, forcing the group to redefine itself. How can we help each other to restore stability within the group?

This project is currently in the creation phase :

In June 2020 a 15 minutes long version of Face it. was shown at Dare & Share Basel.

In October 2020 Laetitia Kohler and the artists could work on the piece for two weeks and show a 30 minutes long version at Dare & Share Extended, by Tanzbüro Basel.

FACE IT. IS CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION, AND IS LOOKING TO TOUR A SHORT VERSION, OR FOR RESIDENCES AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO CONTINUE THE CREATION.

What is it to be young? ...Are we doing it right?...Are we wasting it?

In Now What?, we witness two individuals navigating the beauty, uncertainty and urgency of their youth. The piece is a personal account of real-life memories, questions and fears, animated by a unique movement language and partnership. Incorporating elements of playfulness and nostalgia, the duo develops an onstage relationship mirroring that of a childhood friendship; we watch as their paths overlap and intertwine and as the two evolve, reminisce and learn alongside one another.

Now What? is KoHalition's premiere work, it was first conceived, choreographed and performed by Laetitia Kohler and Sarah Hammond and later adapted to another version with Dario Theiler. The piece is a melding of Kohler and Hammond's diverse artistic visions brought together by their synergistic movement style and  original dialogue; it also features original musical composition by Maëva Kohler.

The production has been performed alongside The Basel Dance Academy at Theâtre de La Coupole (St. Louis, FR), for the platforms: DARE & SHARE (Basel, CH) and RAW & POLISHED (Nürnberg, DE), and as part of The Tukatuka Art Project (Schopfheim, DE). It will be performed in 2021 at Tanzfest Brig.
